Founded in 1989 in the southern city of Bangalore in India. Today Cobra Beer is a global brand name with its special beer reciepe.

The essence of the beer can be found in its ingredients, a unique blend of barley malt, yeast, maize, hops and rice but also there is less gas than in other beers which means the beer goes down smoothly and is easy to drink.

Started first from a student like us, Mr. Karan under the expertise of a brewer brewing expert. Mr. Karan and his buisness partner today has made cobra beer a standard in almost all indian restaurants and many prestigious pubs around the country. The surge of demand was so huge that cobra beer had to re-locate their headquarters and factorys to the UK.

Today Cobra is expanding globally, with Cobra beer bieng available in more than 30 countries. Its only the start of their global dominance If you ask me, Cobra will be the household name of this gerneration and generations to come in the future

We are delighted to announce that 'Cobra Beer' have officially sponsered our society. Hence, look out for Cobra Beer at our socials in the near future

If you would still like to purchase cobra beer but don't know where to purchase it, you can buy cobra beer online. Please click on the above image of cobra beer to be taken to their website or click here: www.cobrabeer.com

Alternitively you can obviously try hunting around exeter for a beer store that sells cobra beer, we have only found one store though.

Feel free to contact the commitee for any futher enquires on cobra beer.

Tastes of North Africa spice up Exeter
Situated on Exeter’s historic and beautiful Exeter Cathedral Green, Al Farid brings not only authentic dishes from Morocco and Southern Spain to the table but also a unique flavour of North African culture.

Al Farid consists a tapas/café bar downstairs, which creates a relaxed and romantic candle lit atmosphere with low tables and cushions. The décor includes intricately carved North African furniture, brass ornaments, rugs and other decorations.

Upstairs in the main restaurant area, there is extra seating in a more formal setting with tables and chairs but the atmosphere and décor is similar to the tapas bar.

Specialities range from mixed grills cooked on skewers to Moroccan pastries and potatoes.

Another traditional feature of the restaurant is the Shisha or hubble bubble pipe. It is a water cooled pipe with which visitors can smoke a relaxing flavoured tobacco after their meal.

Al Farid is a traditional Moroccan restaurant with a Moroccan chef. The atmosphere is based on a Moroccan bazaar. A lot of the furnishings come from Marrakesh including the plates and soft furnishings.

Edmond Davari designed the restaurant himself with the intention of making his customers feeling as if they were abroad when they entered Al Farid.

Al Farid's is one of our favourite restaurants in Exeter as it offers very good atmosphere, similar to the atmosphere found in parts of India namely Rajistan. Also the food, service and Shisha is exquisite. AL Farid's is offering a 20% discount to Gandhi Soc Members provided they show their card (20% off not valid with any other offers that might be available, discount offered for the Academic year 2004-2005)

Al Farid is located at: 3 Cathedral Yard, Exeter, EX1 HJ

Spanish Tapas-style bar and restaurant
Cohiba is another of Exeter’s answers to authentic foreign cuisine. Cohiba has the relaxing, non-intimidating atmosphere you would expect from a Spanish tapas bar, with subtle décor and unobtrusive music.

There is a choice of comfortable sofa style seating for a more cosy ambience or tables for large parties.

Situated in Exeter's South Street, Cohiba offers an extremely wide range of different tapas with special offers for lunchtime and evening diners

We have choosen this particular restaurant in order to promote the fact that we would like to embrace other cultures and invite them to do so under our society. As for the ambience, it is truly very cosy with the soft lighting and comfy chairs. We liked the food also, its a perfect place for a meal with some friends. Cohiba  offering a 20% discount to Gandhi Soc Members provided they show their card (20% off not valid with any other offers that might be available, discount offered for the Academic year 2004-2005)

Cohiba is located at:  36 South Street, Exeter, EX1 1BZ
